About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role will initially focus on improving the timeliness of supplier invoice processing while helping to enhance efficiency across our finance processes. Once this is achieved, you will continue to support the transactional finance function, as well as financial accounts with month-end, process mapping, data cleansing, and preparation for a new finance ledger system.

Key Responsibilities
Process and reconcile supplier and customer invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring accuracy, proper allocation, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Maintain accurate purchase and receivables ledgers, performing regular account and bank reconciliations.
Manage supplier payments, set up new supplier accounts, and ensure all transactions meet required documentation, approval, and audit standards.
Monitor aged payables and receivables and produce reports on balances, cash‑flow impacts, and payment forecasts.
Handle supplier and customer queries professionally, working with internal teams to resolve issues.
Identify and implement process improvements across Accounts Payable and Receivable
Support process mapping, data cleansing, and preparations for new ledger implementation.
Assist the Financial Accounts team with month‑end close and general transactional/administrative tasks.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in an accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance assistant or similar roles.
A finance-related qualification (e.g. AAT Level 2 or 3) is preferred but not essential.
Experience working with high volumes of financial data
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) if preferred
High level of numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
