About the role
The Warehouse Officer plays an important role in making sure aircraft material moves safely, accurately and efficiently through our Newport warehouse. You’ll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing and dispatching parts in line with our procedures, customer requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
Working as part of a high-performing warehouse team, you’ll help protect inventory integrity, maintain clear records and support the smooth running of day-to-day warehouse operations. This is a full-time, warehouse-based role, with working hours and shift arrangements set locally to meet operational needs. Flexibility may be required during busier periods, stock activity or urgent customer demand.
What you’ll be doing
Receive aircraft parts and materials, checking quantities, condition, certification and supporting documentation before completing accurate system transactions.
Carry out warehouse quality inspections, identifying discrepancies or nonconformities early and escalating or quarantining affected material in line with procedure.
Handle, label and store aeronautical material correctly, including ESD-sensitive, hazardous, high-value and controlled items.
Pick and verify material accurately against approved instructions, maintaining full traceability and inventory control.
Pack parts for domestic and international dispatch using suitable packaging standards and prepare complete, accurate shipping documentation.
Complete Quantum and associated warehouse transactions accurately and promptly, maintaining organised electronic and physical records.
Take ownership of daily priorities, raise risks early and support the achievement of operational targets.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and inventory discipline, including daily ESD mat and MHE checks, monthly racking inspections and the correct storage of tools and material.
Follow approved processes consistently, report errors openly, build expertise in assigned areas and help remove ambiguity from standard work.
Identify and share practical improvement ideas, challenge inefficient ways of working constructively and participate in trials and continuous improvement activity.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Warehouse, Logistics, Quality, Operations and other departments, undertaking other reasonable duties that support the needs of the business.
What we’re looking for
Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics or regulated operational environment. Aerospace experience would be advantageous.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow processes accurately and maintain clear records and traceability.
A well-organised approach, with the ability to prioritise workload safely in a busy and changing environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a constructive and collaborative approach to teamwork.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience using Quantum or a similar inventory management system would be desirable.
A practical interest in aviation, engineering or technical products, with a willingness to develop warehouse and product knowledge.
A full driving licence. A forklift truck licence and Dangerous Goods certification would be advantageous.
Growth and development
You’ll be supported through structured induction, on-the-job training and assessed competence across core warehouse activities. As you build confidence, process knowledge and consistent independent performance, there may be an opportunity to progress into a Senior Warehouse Officer role, based on sustained contribution to team results, continuous improvement and the behaviours expected within a high-performing team.
