About the role
We are looking for a proactive, organised and commercially minded Repair Vendor Executive to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will take ownership of stock and customer repairs, managing each repair through its full lifecycle from initial assessment and vendor selection through to quotation, approval and completion. You will work closely with our repair vendors to drive performance, control costs and turnaround times, while ensuring repair activity supports the needs of our customers and the wider business.
You will also play an important role in identifying opportunities to maximise component value, using your technical and commercial judgement to challenge repair solutions, negotiate effectively and explore alternative options where appropriate.
This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, building strong relationships and managing multiple priorities. If you are a confident communicator with strong attention to detail, commercial awareness and a genuine interest in aviation and engineering, we would like to hear from you.
What you'll do
Manage stock and customer repairs from order placement through to completion, ensuring repair orders are raised promptly and Quantum is kept accurate and up to date.
Review, challenge, negotiate and approve vendor quotations within agreed budgets and approval levels.
Proactively identify and prioritise critical repairs based on customer requirements and wider business needs.
Work closely with repair vendors to manage turnaround times, costs, delivery commitments and overall performance.
Identify opportunities to maximise component value through alternative repair strategies, modifications, PMA/DER solutions and flat-rate pricing agreements.
Support effective vendor selection by obtaining and evaluating repair pricing, capabilities and turnaround times from MRO providers.
Track, monitor and review vendor performance against agreed KPIs and expectations.
Maintain accurate repair status information within company systems and associated reporting tools.
Work collaboratively with the Sales team to support customer requirements, component availability and repair priorities.
Provide clear and proactive repair status updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
Support the wider business with repair-related queries, including modifications, turnaround times, costings and interchangeability.
Manage warranty repairs and follow through with vendors to achieve timely resolution.
Proactively identify delays, cost increases and other risks, escalating where necessary and driving actions through to resolution.
Contribute to continuous improvement across repair processes, vendor management and repair performance.
What we're looking for
A strong interest in aviation, engineering and the aerospace industry.
Previous experience within aerospace, ideally gained within a stockist, MRO, repair workshop or similar environment.
Strong commercial awareness, with the confidence to review, challenge and negotiate supplier quotations.
Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers and colleagues at all levels.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership, use initiative and follow actions through to completion.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate systems and records.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly when priorities change.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to challenge existing solutions to achieve the best commercial and operational outcome.
A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across the wider business.
Good working knowledge of Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
Experience using Quantum or a similar aviation management system would be advantageous.
An eagerness to develop your technical and commercial knowledge and build a career within the aviation industry.
